Hi, I’m Marian Schulze.

I am a trained Spiritual Director with a Certificate of Spiritual Direction from Perkins School of Theology.  My background was formed in the Christian faith tradition and I am a lifelong United Methodist.

I welcome all clients. You do not need to identify with any spiritual tradition or come with any prerequisite knowledge or background, only an openness to explore how the Spirit is inviting you into deeper relationship.

My Approach

I am passionate about providing a safe space to explore all of your questions about God and your faith.  I am also drawn to providing support for clients who are grieving the loss of their faith community or have been wounded by that community in any way. Together, we will seek to experience God’s healing grace and love in a new way.

I'm also trained in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. In IFS, the "Self" is understood as the core of a person — the true essence beneath our protective and wounded parts, marked by calm, compassion, curiosity, clarity, and confidence. Self is like the wise, loving leader within us: capable of understanding, guiding, and ultimately healing the various parts we carry. It is the Imago Dei, the Highest Self, the Divine Essence, or the quiet Inner Knowing already present in each of us.

The aim of IFS is to help a person gain fuller access to Self energy, so that inner order is restored and the parts of us that carry burdens, fear, or old wounds can be met with compassion rather than exile. For many, this inner healing becomes a doorway to a deeper, more grounded connection with God.
